The Original Rudeboys are set for a hometown headliner at The Sugar Club on Friday 12th August.
The band blew a crowd of 5,000 Oxegen revellers away with one of the festival’s hottest performances from the Vodafone Stage where the band delivered live cuts of their songs that are now cult status as a result of over 320,000 Youtube views. The lads also welcomed some valuable career advice from The Script backstage.
Such is the media interest in The Original Rudeboys, that they were interviewed following their performance at Oxegen for RTE 1 TV News as well as a host of national and regional radio stations on site.
Based in Dublin's North Inner City, The Original Rudeboys formed in March 2011 when all three members realized that they had something unique, offering a distinct and refreshing sound with a combination of acoustic guitar and ukulele blended with soulful and Hip Hop voices. The Original Rudeboys have created a new fusion of music whilst continuing to respect their different influences.
The Rudeboys’ messages is to look beyond our world so often discoloured by hurt, racism & sadness and see hope, faith, respect and most of all to choose life.
