The Cyber Startup Summit took place in Dublin on Tuesday, with speakers giving insight into the world of Cyber Security.
Technology entrepreneur Ken Finnegan began with an insight into Ireland’s Cyber Landscape and why there is a demand for skilled professionals in the cyber security sector. 
Keynote speaker cyber psychologist Dr  Mary Aiken spoke about the human factors of cyber security. She said “Ireland is a centre of excellence for cyber psychology.”
Speaking about our “symbiotic” relationship with technology, Dr 
Aiken said “human behaviour mutates in a virtual context.” 
Dr Aiken put forward the concept of an “Internet within an Internet” for children wherein only specific devices can access it to improve safety for children online. 
She also spoke about the difficult with cyber bullying and anonymity and Cyber Situational Awareness as the “next generation approach to cyber security”. 
The event took place in the Science Gallery in Trinity College with different speakers sharing from “enterprise, academic, startup and investment communities advocating the need for targeted innovation and new startups in cyber security”.
