Sweet company Jelly Belly has introduced a new flavour to its jellybean selection – beer.

According to a press release, the ‘Draft Beer’ jellybean took three years to perfect. Unfortunately for some, the new sweet won’t replace prinking -- it doesn't contain any alcohol.

“Beer connosisseurs will find the flavour profile to be clean with notes of wheat and a touch of sweetness,” the company said. “The aroma is mildly bready.” (Whatever that means.)

The Draft Beer bean will join a number of other alcolhol-inspired jellies including the Pina Colada and Margarita flavoured beans.

The beer bean has already sold out on Jelly Belly’s online store. But despite its popularity, the new flavour hasn’t avoided the usual online backlash.

Parents took to Jelly Belly’s Facebook page to complain about how the flavour might encourage children to drink.

Mindy Chemacki wrote: “You have developed a flavour that may encourage minors to develop substance abuse problem. Just as bad, have you thought about recovering alcoholics who are harmed by such an influence…I hope that you prayerfully reconsider this decision."
