Our track of the week this week is something that goes well with the good weather - ‘Smiley Face’ by Knots!

Knots are a four-piece Dublin rock band. They cite U2, Smashing Pumpkins and Muse as influences and the lads certainly have that big stadium sound. Their sound mixes progressive rock with hints of pop and acoustic.

The band – consisting of Botham Valentino, Rob O’Dwyer, Conor Lawlor and Ciaran Hurd – have been touring extensively for the last year and released their debut album Velvet Mindset in January. You can download it from Bandcamp.com here.

Knots celebrated the launch of ‘Smiley Face’ – which is the first single off their album – with a gig in the Workman’s Club last night. By all accounts, the show was a big success!

We like the track because it is fresh and creates an uplifting mood that suits the start of the summer.
