Music Editor Laura Flaherty takes us through the best and the worst the charts have to offer us this week, and makes us feel very old by reminiscing that it's been a DECADE since This Love was number one...

‘All About That Bass’ - Meghan Trainor. “It’s about loving your body… And your booty”. Need any more be said?

‘Stay With Me’ – Sam Smith. After weeks and weeks of airplay, I think it’s fair to say Sam Smith deserves a spot on my list. The song is probably the most frequently covered song on Youtube, having touched many people. After a soulful performance at the VMA’s, there was not a dry eye in the house.

‘Anaconda’ – Nicki Minaj. Ahead of her new album release, The Pinkprint, Nicki Minaj wanted to give the MTV VMA’s a performance they were not likely to forget, given Miley Cyrus’ twerking fiasco. MTV, however, opted for a more family friendly VMA’s.

‘Fancy’ – Iggy Azalea feat Charli XCX. If you don’t love this song enough already, watch Jimmy Fallon’s stirring, soulful rendition below:

Irish Act of the Week:

The Script earns Irish Act of the Week this week, with their new album “No Sound Without Silence” available on pre-order now. Probably one of the most well known Irish band of recent times, the Script’s fourth album is set to bring them back to top of the charts once again.

Ten years ago, the international music chart looked like this:

1. This Love - Maroon 5

2. The Reason - Hoobastank

3. Everytime - Britney Spears

4. Dragostea Din Tei - Ozone

5. My Happy Ending - Avril Lavigne
