Gardaí hunt for 'at least three men' after security guard 'beaten up, locked into car boot' at Irish Rail compound
Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a security guard at an Irish Rail compound was assaulted and locked into a car boot.
The alleged incident occurred at approximately 5am on Tuesday morning, December 5.
Gardaí report the victim to be a member of the security personal employed at the Irish Rail compound in the Kilbricken, Mountrath area in Co Louth.
The assault occurred when the victim, who arrived for work, was approached by a number of men who assaulted him and locked him into his car boot before they escaped.
The compound is in a rural area.
The assailants left the area in a vehicle, of which the make and model is unknown at this time.
Gardaí believe that there were at least three male assailants involved.
They said they are now investigating an incident of assault and false imprisonment.
