Anna Cullen takes a look at the hits and misses of this year's red carpet...
It’s that time of year again; the Oscars. For the celebrities, it’s all about who wins what. It’s the proof that they have been the best they can possibly be throughout their career, and more importantly, they can boast about it.
But for us, it’s all about the style. The best and worst dressed. Who got it bang on, and of course who didn’t. The expensive jewellery, the elegant gowns, the amazing shoes, the flawless make-up and the perfect hairstyle; it’s the kind of stuff we here at Campus fashion dream about.
These beautiful women are under scrutiny for days after. And the men aren’t exactly hard on the eye either. Of course, every year, there are hits and misses, but at the Oscars 2015 we saw plenty of hits. However, as always, there were also many misses.
Jennifer Lopez has come a long way from the block, and looked stunning as usual in an elegant Elie Saab Couture gown. She, of course had her signature look; the plunging neckline. Unfortunately for J-Lo, her dress was pretty darn similar to Robert Duvall’s wife, Argentinian actress and film director Luciana Duvall.

Although, at 45 years of age, and with a smoking hot body like hers, Ms Lopez looked beautiful as ever. And she didn’t stop there. She wore jewellery estimated at a whopping $2.5 million by Neil Lane.
Unfortunately, the night didn’t go so well for Margot Robbie. She wore a black Yves Saint Lauren dress with Van Cleef and Arpels jewellery. We feel it was more drab than fab, and looked as though she was going to a funeral.

Rosamund Pike turned heads at this year’s Oscars, looking radiant in red. Her Givenchy gown was a  figure-hugging, boob-tube with a slit up the middle. She teamed her look with simple make-up, hair and minimal jewellery.

Lady gaga seemed to be ready to head off to wash dishes after the Oscars this year as she teamed her Azzedine Alaia dress with red gloves. Perhaps she wanted to cover up her new engagement ring? We certainly weren’t a fan; maybe next year, eh?

Channing Tatum is one lucky man! Jenna Dewan Tatum, shone in her Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture dress. She looked beautiful with a Lee Savage clutch, a diamond cuff and earrings, finished off with a bright red lip.

As for Zoe Saldana, she looked incredible in a nude-pink number by Atelier Versace. You’d hardly believe the actress had twins last November. Perhaps this is due to her incredibly flattering wrap dress, which worked very well, while she drew attention to her cleavage with a diamond necklace and styling her long brunette hair in a messy up-do.

Poor Keira Knightley has not had much luck with award ceremonies so far this year (need I remind you of her Golden Globe’s fiasco?!) Despite being pregnant, the actress had layers of tulle on her dress which was terribly unflattering. She get’s a thumbs down from us.

Lupita Nyong’o showed off her toned arms in an amazing white Calvin Klein dress. She looked like a mermaid as there were 6,000 pearls used in this beaded number. Absolutely fabulous; she never fails to disappoint.

Men- try taking a leaf out of David Oyelowo’s book this year. While we know we can’t afford Dolce and Gabana (even with the grant), try experimenting with the colour of your suit. It certainly paid off for this guy.
