From travel and cooking to beauty and fashion, Emily O'Keeffe gives us her top picks for bloggers we should all follow.
In recent times, ‘blogging’ is something that has rapidly gained popularity.  For those of you not in the know, a ‘blog’ is a "regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style".

I’m actually a blogger myself; my blog is http://éclaircissement.com if you’d like to check it out. However, in addition to being a blogger, I am a massive blog lover.

There are so many fantastic blogs out there on just about any topic you could imagine. Here are some of the blogs I think you simply have to take a look at:

In The Deetales
In The Deetales is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog, so this one might be more for the ladies! Fans of the blog have described it as “Professional and direct”, “Minimalistic and clean, elegant and graceful; and ridiculously on trend”, and “All about the aesthetics.”

In The Deetales is ran by Danella “Dee” Alfaro, a nineteen year old UCD student. Despite being a relatively new blog, In The Deetales is swiftly soaring to new heights of blogging stardom.

The inner hipster in you is just dying to become a fan before she becomes a supernova - I say listen to that little hipster.

Lies and Bowties
This blog is ran by Campus.ie’s own Ents Editor, Michaela Deane! Michaela is a journalism student in UL and her blog focuses mainly on health and lifestyle, but there’s something for everyone.

Michaela tackles the difficult topics that some may shy away from and I have no doubt that her writings have helped many readers. Her series on mental health is something I’d advise everyone to read!

Lies and Bowties has been nominated for “Best Youth Blog” and “Best Health and Wellbeing Blog” in the Blog Awards Ireland this year, which is a massive achievement for someone who only blogs part-time.

Plus, with nearly a thousand Facebook likes, it's clear that I'm not the only one who religiously reads Michaela's blog. Make sure you check it out if you haven’t already!

The Creative Yoke
The Creative Yoke is a lifestyle blog by Sarah Cooke-O’Neill. Sarah is a self-confessed Martha Stewart wannabe and I must admit, it’s her fabulous recipes that have me addicted to the blog!

Sarah’s blog also features aspects of beauty and DIY craft, but the star of the show, for me at least, is the food element!

Many of the recipes are desserts. Some are even guilt-free (#winning), but some are savoury meals and snacks. My favourite is a homemade alternative to the Nakd Cocoa Delight bar. Have a snoop through The Creative Blog – I bet you’ll love it just as much as I do!

Darling Buds of Mei
This is another fashion and beauty blog, ran by the gorgeous Mei Ling Tong, a twenty-year-old marketing student in DIT.

I had to include the Darling Buds of Mei because Mei Ling effortlessly creates OOTD’s that I would kill for. While she dabbles in other categories, fashion is the dominant presence on the blog, followed by beauty.

In addition to having great style, Mei Ling also has a simplistic writing style that reaches through the screen and hooks you. Take my advice and put this blog at the top of your list of fashion to follow!

Journalist On The Run
This blog was established with the purpose of documenting all the travels and adventures, career growth and goal achievements of Janet Newenham.

Janet, the blog’s creator, is a twenty eight year old journalist from Cork. The blog has heaps of useful travel tips, which I hope to be able to take heed of when I finally start travelling!

Journalist on the Run made it onto the Top 1000 Travel Blogger List this year, debuting at #71! If this doesn’t validate my claims that it’s an incredible blog, I don’t know what will – make sure to have a look!
