College Life Editor Laura Smith writes about coping with the stress of the final few weeks of college and the deadlines creeping up.

So you don't know whether to laugh because college is over and you have a million things planned for summer like the holiday with friends and music festivals or cry, and have a Lindsay Lohan meltdown because you have assignments and deadlines fast approaching, with exams to follow after that. Fear not however, as here are some tips on coping with all the stress and pressure of the last few weeks in college.

1. Stay Focused

I know, easier said than done. You have that assignment due in the next few days and you have every intention to go to the library for hours on end to finish it - but it doesn't happen. Sound familiar? However, remember it's not about the hours you spend in the library or leaving the library at two in the morning, it's about what you achieved during your time in the library. Go to the library with a goal of not leaving until you have something like an assignment or studying a particular topic for an exam done. This will help you stay focused and work for something. Remember why you started and keep going.

2. Start early to avoid added stress later on

Probably a bit late saying it now for some people but starting early can really be a game changer for the future. The quicker you start to do your work and keep on top of things, it could save your life when approaching the last few weeks of college. Make flashcards or key points from lectures and revise as much as you can.

3. Avoid distraction

Your Facebook newsfeed won't change much in the few hours your studying and those Snapchats can wait. There is no point going to the library opening a book and then sitting on your phone. You will realise you haven't gained anything and feel more stressed coming out of it. Avoid anything that you find distracting when getting work done.

4. Relax and Breath

Yes, take a few breaths in and out. You have got this - so you can go another bit and make it until summer is here. You are doing your best, you're keeping yourself together. Spend some time just relaxing like talking to friends or working out at the gym. It's okay to go away from the books sometimes to just relax.

And if you’re still lacking motivation, here are a few quotes to keep positive about exams:

'Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.' - Thomas A. Edison

“Setting goals is the first step in turning invisible into the visible.” - Tony Robbins

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” - Mark Twain
