In our latest Save VS Splurge, Laura Sheehan looks at nude lipsticks.
My latest obsession is not leaving my house without lipstick on. I think it really completes a make up look. Right now I’m loving nude coloured lipsticks. They’re a nice change from the bold shades of red that have been around the last few seasons.
Highstreet make-up brand, Seventeen, do a gorgeous one in their ‘Stay Pout’ range. It’s called ‘Just A Fling’. This lipstick is long-lasting and durable. It is the perfect buy for those on a budget, especially students, as it only costs €5.99. I wear it with an Essence lip liner in the shade of ‘wish me a rose’. I can’t get enough of this lip liner which costs less than €2.
If you’re feeling more generous with your money then you could always try MAC’s ‘Charismatic’ lipstick. MAC lipsticks cost roughly €19.50 and are available from MAC and Brown Thomas stores across the country.
The colour bares a remarkable resemblance to Seventeen’s ‘Just A Fling’ but every girl loves a MAC lipstick there’s no denying it. Obviously as this lipstick is more expensive it’s of a better quality.
In my opinion, the colour pigment lasts longer with this MAC lipstick. If it’s an occasion or if you have money to spare then I would 100% go for MAC’s nude lipstick, I love it!
At nearly a quarter of the price of MAC, Seventeen have really out done themselves with their ‘Stay Pout’ lipstick range. They are available in many pharmacies across the country including Boots, which makes them accessible to everyone. ‘Just A Fling’ and ‘Charismatic’ are almost identical in colour. As college is just around the corner we should all try saving as much money as possible. But everyone needs new make-up right?
Anyone who is shopping on a budget head down to your local Boots and pick up a ‘Stay Pout’ lipstick, you won’t be disappointed.
