Student Startup is a new initiative, and the first of its kind, which offers students the chance to grow their startup company during a week-long event in Dublin.
Starting August 24th, a selected group of 20 students in six teams will have the opportunity to work from the offices of Dublin’s first Commissioner for Startups for five days.
This unique workspace will also provide students with daily mentors who will speak on various topics in hour long sessions.
Founder and Head of Teams, David Newell thinks that there is exceptional value for students in taking their concepts beyond idea stage and building viable companies by the end of the week with the help of extraordinary mentors.
Not only will students be working on their own ideas but will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in Dublin’s startup scene; as various activities and evening events have been planned, ranging from trips to accelerators, soccer tournaments and the opportunity to pitch in front of Dublin’s tech community.
A night event is also being planned for Wednesday evening which will see an audience of students meet with members of Dublin’s startup community during a two hour session of keynote talks and panel discussions.
Applications for both individuals and teams will close in just under two weeks. For more information on how to apply visit their website or follow them on Twitter.
