NUI Galway Students’ Union has opened the application process for charities wishing to be considered as beneficiaries for its annual fundraising campaign for 2016/17.
Last year, students took part in Croagh Patrick climbs, head shaves, leg waxes, cake sales, table quizzes, a Christmas day in November, comedy gigs, pet farm visits and collection days to raise €22,500 for charity in the process.

All of the money raised from these events was donated to the Students’ Union nominated charities for 2015/16 – Galway Rape Crisis Centre and the Irish Cancer Society.

Jimmy McGovern, NUIG Students’ Union President said:

“Despite the constant cutbacks and daily challenges we all face, NUI Galway students have a very proud tradition of raising money for charities. This year we hope to raise even more money for good causes.”

Application forms for the 2016/17 fund are available from the Students’ Union website www.su.nuigalway.ie and the closing date for applications is 5pm Monday 29th of August 2016.

Please note that any canvassing will automatically disqualify your charity from this process.
