And there's a cash prize...
Culture Night 2017 is almost upon us with hundreds of unique and exciting events planned across the country. Plays, art exhibitions, workshops...a giant sing-along for those of us who sound like a screeching cat, Culture Night has it all. But one event is turning more heads than others ... possibly something to do with the €1000 cash prize.
DIT Societies, in conjunction with Culture Night, will be hosting a massive, citywide treasure hunt on the night. Students can compete in teams of four or on their own, which in that case you will be matched up with another group.
According to DIT Societies, participants will get to take part in workshops, visit galleries, see live performances, collect clues and ultimately have a right aul laugh. The overall winners will split the €1000 cash prize.
The price is set at €10 per team of four and are available through an Eventbrite link. Registration will take place on the day at 5pm at both DIT Aungier Street and DIT Bolton Street.
However, according to DIT Societies, this event is only open to current DIT students. Sorry DCU.
Media & Arts Chairperson for DIT Societies’ Executive Committee, Hannah McGlynn said that the inspiration for the event came from a similar event which was run in 2009.
“Myself and the rest of the executive committee wanted to revive the idea, whilst adding our own flare to it. It'll be a great event to show students who may not know Dublin too well how much of a vibrant culture Dublin has to offer, and giving all involved a chance to meet new people and have a bit of fun!” explained Ms McGlynn.
