Al Porter fans are in for a treat as the top Irish comedian looks set to visit UCC next week.
Al Porter, who also co-hosted RTÉ 2fm’s Drivetime radio show last year alongside Colm Hayes, will perform a special gig in the college as part of UCC Student Union’s latest comedy instalment.

“UCC Students' Union are delighted to announce that the comic genius that is Al Porter is coming to UCC very soon! The second act in our comedy instalment for the year is the King of camp.

This guy's the real deal, and it's shown through his rise through the comedy ranks in Europe. Al Porter is one of Ireland’s most colourful comics.

In his early twenties Al is quickly building a reputation as one of the country’s most uproarious and flamboyant talents. It’s a show not to be missed,” a statement from UCC Student’s Union read.

The up and coming 23 year old comedian seems to be looking forward to the event.

“I’m in UCC next Tuesday. Last time I was in Cork was the Cork Opera House and we had a ball.

When I was in college I couldn't be shut up in lecture halls, didn't know anyone and desperately wanted to be liked. Nothing has changed, I guess,” the Tallaght native said jokingly on Facebook.

19 year old stand- up comedian Tom Lucy will also appear on the night as a support act.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Porter joked: “UCC I can’t wait to introduce you to my pal Tom! @UCCSU couldn’t guarantee a cute 18 year old so I’m bringing my own,” he wrote.

The event, which was organised by UCC Student’s Union and UCC Ents, will take place on Tuesday January 19th at 8pm , with tickets costing ten euro.
