Your guide to festive fashion

So Christmas is well and truly just around the corner. We have been clued to our televisions screens watching Xposé, buying Stellar and U Magazine just to be in the know of the Christmas night out fashion must haves. On Pippa O’ Connor’s blog, she has a really good collection of jackets to wear out this season and of course I will be mentioning some other online stores and shops to purchase some of the must haves for this season.
You can never go wrong with a jacket on nights out. It’s the middle of December, queues into the nightclub will be crazy and as your mam would say “cover up as you will catch a cold.” So jackets really are a must this season. Metallic jackets, pattern jackets and, yes, bomber jackets are still in major existence in the world of fashion. Leather jackets also do wonders for the party season and really add to your outfit. Glam and anything glitzy are some other must buys when choosing a jacket for any night out. and have a great selection of jackets for this season.
Moving along to shoes, a key shoe, or should I say boot, for this Christmas season is the knee high boot. Now, Aldo have this style, but are we willing to splash the cash on these boots? Penny’s have an identical pair to these which are only €28. Cheap and cheerful for this season? You can’t go wrong. You will have seen Pippa O’Connor and Rosanna Davison sporting this style so these boots are a good purchase and money well spent, wherever you get them.
For tops and jumpsuits, River Island and Missguided have great pieces for any occasion. Velvet and harness tops are some key styles for tops this season. Jumpsuits are also back and who can go wrong with a jumpsuit? No shaving or tanning on the legs = bonus. Missguided tops are at an affordable rate which is what us students like about online shopping. River Island also have some student-budget friendly tops as well out there.
Finally, it’s all about the accessories to add a finishing touch to your outfit. For me, accessories are never a big deal but with the likes of some bloggers and fashion, they would beg to differ. In fairness though the right accessories can transform the outfit from ‘that’s nice’ to ‘that’s wow’ really quick. Forever 21 always have a good selection of accessories for this season. It’s all about the choker look and I don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t buy their new range of the most outrageous chokers which literally do cover up your whole neck!
Velvet is a key statement for a Christmas outfit, as I said in the tops section, and it’s the same rule for the choker trend. Penny’s have a diamond choker available in stock which is €10 and really would suit for this time of year.
Whatever you choose to go with, sticking with these styles means you won’t go wrong this Christmas.
