Review: a look at sosueme beauty

Suzanne Jackson is one of Ireland’s biggest bloggers; under her own brand she has launched several beauty products from nail polish to contour palettes.
With her newest endeavor, the recently launched fashion range, we decided to take a look at her well established beauty range and what the Irish beauty’s products are like.
Under the blog name SoSueMe, Suzanne Jackson began her beauty empire with a nail polish line in 2015, which is ever expanding. The widely available SOSU nail polish collection retails for €7.99, a steep price for a bottle of nail polish. The packaging of the product is absolutely beautiful, topped off with the colour of the moment, rose gold. The actually polish itself is extremely pigmented and does not need more than one coat to get an amazing colour pay off without streaks. The nail polish usually lasts around 4-5 days without chips, and longer on fake nails. A top and base coat is also available within the collection to make sure the nail polish really doesn’t budge.
Her next beauty venture was the SOSU contour palette, retailing at €29.95 and also available in pharmacies nationwide as well as on her own website. The palette contains 4 cream shades and 2 setting powders. The shades in the palette are very dark, and probably should be avoided by those of us who have fairer skins. The cream based contour and highlights are easy to use but unfortunately not suitable for those who have oily skin as the product does not stay in place well. The setting powders are very lightweight and soft on the skin, even the cream highlighter can be used on the cupid’s bow and the bridge of the nose. For those with dry or normal skin however, this is a great contouring palette.
Earlier in 2016, Suzanne came out with a range of lashes; eight styles of human hair lashes and four styles of luxury lashes made from Luxury 3D Silk Lashes. The premium lashes retail at €5.95 whilst the luxury lashes retail at €19.95. She also recently announced a collaboration with Penneys to bring her followers three exclusive lash styles, retailing at €6. The lashes look extremely dramatic in the packaging but are so natural on the eyes. The lightweight lashes make it easy to forget that you’re even wearing false lashes.
Her latest beauty venture is a six shade highlighting palette, 3 of the shades are pressed powder highlighters whilst the other 3 are baked powder, allowing the wearer to choose between a subtle highlight or a luminous glow. The colours range from a soft white to a dark bronze colour, and can be used on most skin tones. The highly sought after highlighter kit retails at €29.95, like the contour palette. The glow from the highlighters are absolutely stunning.
As Suzanne looks to leap into the fashion world, I hope that she doesn’t neglect her ever improving and growing beauty range. The Irish beauty scene has been ever expanding in the past few years with bloggers like SoSueMe at the helm.
