Key Points:

There are 2 things that can happen when you don't know the answer.

If it is a question about you then it is seriously embarrassing that you are not able to answer it and it is very difficult to recover.

If, however if it is a technical question, you have a better chance of recovery:

• Bad approach is to bluff, chances are the person interviewing you knows far more about the subject.
• Also not good to simply admit ignorance and leave it at that.
• Best answer is likely to admit ignorance BUT talk about how you would like to go about finding out the information.
• This question has now become a reflection of how you will react in a work environment.
