• Make human contact with the organisation and try not to sound like someone selling online phone services; It will make you stand out from the crowd a mile ahead.

• Have an intelligent question to ask the individual.
• It's difficult because it often feels like no one wants to talk to you and if can be difficult to get to the right person.
• Try a dry run with a company that you don't necessarily want to work for.
• Say something like "I Saw your advertisement, and I want to have a two-minute chat with you. I have X, Y and Z."
