daffodilMaynooth Students? Union has launched a new initiative ?The Gathering?, set up jointly by both students and staff. ?The Gathering? will host a number of events for charity, bringing together high profile artists. The first of these events takes place takes place on March 3rd 2010.

The event was organised to raise money for The Little Way Cancer Support Centre in Clane. Co. Kildare. The centre which was set up in 2003 provides support for Cancer patients, their family and friends. While the Health Service provides for all the medical concerns, often people are left with emotional problems, stress and worry leaving them feeling anxious and isolated. The Little Way Cancer Support Centre reaches out to those who have or have had Cancer, and to their friends and family by providing emotional support and practical help in coping with the stresses and strains associated with the disease. The centre operates a drop in service, no appointment or referral necessary and all services provided by the centre are free of charge.

This years event is set to be one of the best as the line up boasts a wide range of musical treats for all ages, shapes and sizes. The acts that are due to grace the stage include, The Magic Numbers, Japanese Popstars, Sidney Sampson, Duke Special, Mundy , The Coronas and The View.

The event which takes place in NUI Maynooth is accessible by car, bus and train and all details regarding parking etc is available on this website. Tickets which are reasonably priced at 49.20 are available on ticketmaster.ie but are bound to sell out fast, so get clicking, especially as it is for a very good cause.
