The Plea are set to play the Academy 2, Wednesday 5thOctober. The band have spent the past few months causing waves across the festival circuit with their infectious sound of soaring guitar rifts and lavish beats. See them play live at the Academy 2. Tickets priced €7.50 are on sale now.
At the heart of The Plea are the Doherty brothers Denny and Dermot who hail from the small town of Ballyliffen,County Donegal. They are joined by drummer Gerry Strawbridge and bassist Paul Toland. The band are currently busy recording their debut album with Chris Potter (The Verve, The Rolling Stones, U2) which will be released in the new year.
The band have already honed their musical talent and sound, having spent a time performing in America and a year in Minnesota recording a big budget studio album with a major American record label, which unfortunately was never released. The Plea went back to their roots and put together a whole new batch of material which quickly drew immediate interest from the founders of legendary Belgian, dance label R&S Records. The band featured at Oxegen and The Temple House Music Festival this summer and have already supported for Ash and Fred. The Plea are just getting started!
